The Secretary of Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) pursuant to the Code of Maryland Regulations 08.02.05.22 announces the closure of the Winter II (November – December) commercial scup fishery based on the projection that the quota will be fully harvested. Effective 12:01 am December 5, 2008, vessels landing at Maryland ports are prohibited from landing or possessing scup until the Winter I period begins on January 1, 2009.
