PUBLIC INFORMATIONAL MEETING – DESIGNATION OF OYSTER HARVEST RESERVE AREAS IN CHESAPEAKE BAY

The Secretary of Maryland Department of Natural Resources, pursuant to Natural Resources Articles §4-1103 and §4-1009.1 of Maryland’s Annotated Code, announces that a public information meeting will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Tawes State Office Building B-2 Conference Room, 580 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401 to discuss designating the following oyster bars as harvest reserves. The Department’s goal for the harvest reserves is to restore reserved oyster bars, contribute to the health of the Bay and maintain the oyster industry. These areas would be closed, planted with oyster seed and occasionally opened for harvest when criteria set by the State have been met.

Upper Bay - Nine Foot Knoll Reserve
All of Natural Oyster Bar 2-8 enclosed by a line beginning at a point defined by Lat 39° 8.889'N, Long 76° 22.230'W, then running 100° True to a point defined by Lat 39° 8.763'N, Long 76° 21.346'W, then running 199° True to a point defined by Lat 39° 8.353'N, Long 76° 21.526'W, then running 289° True to a point defined by Lat 39° 8.544'N, Long 76° 22.232'W, then running 0° True to the point of beginning.

Chester River - Willow Bottom Reserve
All of the waters of the Chester River enclosed by a line beginning at a point defined by Lat 39° 5.376'N, Long 76° 10.965'W, then running 103° True to a point defined by Lat 39° 5.361'N, Long 76° 10.884'W, then running 35° True to a point defined by Lat 39° 5.442'N, Long 76° 10.812'W, then running 323° True to a point defined by Lat 39° 5.487'N, Long 76° 10.856'W, then running 217° True to the point of beginning.

Chester River - Coppers Hill Reserve
All of the waters of the Chester River enclosed by a line beginning at a point defined by Lat 39° 2.702'N, Long 76° 11.911'W, then running 285° True to a point defined by Lat 39° 2.724'N, Long 76° 12.018'W, then running 28° True to a point defined by Lat 39° 2.911'N, Long 76° 11.890'W, then running 118° True to a point defined by Lat 39° 2.883'N, Long 76° 11.821'W, then running 201° True to the point of beginning.

Chester River - Hudson Bar Reserve
All of the waters of the Chester River enclosed by a line beginning at a point defined by Lat 39° 5.808'N, Long 76° 10.594'W, then running 359° True to a point defined by Lat 39° 5.877'N, Long 76° 10.595'W, then running 76° True to a point defined by Lat 39° 5.893'N, Long 76° 10.511'W, then running 174° True to a point defined by Lat 39° 5.771'N, Long 76° 10.495'W, then running 191° True to a point defined by Lat 39° 5.740'N, Long 76° 10.503'W, then running 314° True to the point of beginning.

Eastern Bay - Cox Neck Reserve
All of the waters of Crab Alley Bay enclosed by a line beginning at a point defined by Lat 38° 54.760'N, Long 76° 17.358'W, then running 170° True to a point defined by Lat 38° 54.579'N, Long 76° 17.318'W, then running 66° True to a point defined by Lat 38° 54.621'N, Long 76° 17.195'W, then running 337° True to a point defined by Lat 38° 54.772'N, Long 76° 17.278'W, then running 259° True to the point of beginning.

South River – Brewer Reserve
All of the waters of the South River enclosed by a line beginning at a point defined by Lat 38° 56.097'N, Long 76° 31.702'W, then running 156° True to a point defined by Lat 38° 55.994'N, Long 76° 31.642'W, then running 86° True to a point defined by Lat 38° 56.013'N, Long 76° 31.298'W, then running 333° True to a point defined by Lat 38° 56.195'N, Long 76° 31.415'W, then running 246° True to the point of beginning.

Patuxent River - Holland Point Reserve
All of the waters of the Patuxent River enclosed by a line beginning at a point defined by Lat 38° 30.676'N, Long 76° 40.272'W, then running 106° True to a point defined by Lat 38° 30.637'N, Long 76° 40.101'W, then running 190° True to a point defined by Lat 38° 30.387'N, Long 76° 40.159'W, then running 288° True to a point defined by Lat 38° 30.440'N, Long 76° 40.368'W, then running 18° True to the point of beginning.
