OYSTER BUYING STATIONS 2009-2010
The Secretary of Natural Resources announces oyster buying stations for 2009-2010 pursuant to COMAR 08.02.08.02 and Natural Resources Article, §4-1007, Annotated Code of Maryland. Under this authority, harvesters are only permitted to sell oysters harvested from state waters at a designated oyster buying station.
Any fixed place of business which possesses a tidal fish license or a seafood dealers license in accordance with Natural Resources Article, §4-701, Annotated Code of Maryland and a Maryland seafood dealer certification issued by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) in accordance with COMAR 10.15.07.01A is an oyster buying station under COMAR 08.02.08.02. The Department will be listing these businesses on the Fisheries Service website at www.dnr.state.md.us/fisheries/.
In addition to any fixed place of business as provided above, the following areas are designated as oyster buying stations. Individuals who are purchasing oysters from harvesters at the following locations will need both the Natural Resources license and the DHMH certification discussed in the previous paragraph.
