The Secretary of Maryland Department of Natural Resources, pursuant to the Code of Maryland Regulations 08.02.05.24, announced that effective 12:01 a.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2009, the commercial spiny dogfish fishery will be closed. All commercial landings, harvest, and possession of spiny dogfish will be prohibited to all Maryland commercial license holders and federally permitted dealers until 12:00 am, Sunday, May 1, 2010.
