The Secretary of Maryland Department of Natural Resources pursuant to Code of Maryland Regulation 08.02.15.12(H) has announced a modification to the February 2009 striped bass Chesapeake Bay commercial gill net fishery. Effective at 6:00 pm February 11, 2009 the striped bass fishery will close. The fishery will reopen at 3:00 am on February 18 and be permitted only on the days of February 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 at a weekly catch limit of 350 pounds per licensee. These open days at the present rate of catch are calculated to reach, without exceeding, the February quota.
