SUMMARY
The following map shows the boundaries of Maryland's historic oyster bottom. The oyster bars depicted are not the legally defined oyster bar boundaries of current Maryland law but rather the traditional oyster bar boundaries where watermen have traditionally harvested oysters for centuries. For more information about this dataset and the boundaries shown, click to access the document Maryland's Historic Oyster Bottom: A Geographic Representation of the Traditional Named Oyster Bars.
Downloadable zipped gpx file representing center points of all historic oyster bars, includes the common names of each bar.
