Thank you for helping to grow oysters through one of the numerous oyster gardening programs in Maryland. To be an oyster gardener it is required that you register with the Department of Natural Resources.

Please remember that the oysters you grow should not be eaten and cannot be sold. They are for ecological purposes only – to be planted in the Bay to help improve an oyster reef. There are public health risks from eating oysters grown by oyster gardeners at private piers. Please see the Health Advisory Fact Sheet located at this link.
