The SFAC conducted a teleconference on the morning of January 28th. Participating commissioners included: Chairman Jim Gracie, Val Lynch, Bill Goldsborough, Dave Sikorski, Brandon White, Ed O’Brien, Neil Jacobs, James Wommack, and Dave Smith for Bill Windley. Unable to participate were: Larry Coburn, Herb Smith and Roger Trageser. The following motion was made by Bill Goldsborough, with a 2nd by Dave Sikorski:

Motion – Recommend that DNR go forward with the proposed oyster restoration and aquaculture development plan after taking into consideration the SFAC comments on the issues pertaining to potential conflicts between shellfish aquaculture and recreational fishing, and establishment by regulation an interested parties list by public notice for off-bottom aquaculture.

The Motion passed with 9 in support, 0 opposed and 0 abstentions.
