History
The Freshwater Fisheries Division of the DNR
manages the sportfish populations in the lake to provide a public angling
resource. Fiscal resources for
these management activities comes from fishing license sales and the Federal
Aid and Restoration Fund (Dingell-Johnson Act).
Physical / Habitat Description
The upper portion of Tuckahoe Lake is a vast
channelized flooded woodland. Stumps,
root balls, and undercut banks are the common habitats utilized by bass,
bluegill and chain pickerel. The
remainder of the lake has limited rooted aquatic vegetation near the shoreline.
Fish Species
Restrictions -Electric trolling motors are permitted on the lake.
Gas motors are prohibited. Camping and swimming are prohibited.
Directions
From Annapolis - Take US Rt. 50 east, take left onto Rt.404 east, take a left onto Rt. 480 (Ridgely Rd) then take first left on Eveland Rd. Take left onto Crouse Mill Rd., after driving over both bridges the parking lot and boat ramp will be on your right.From Salisbury - US Rt.13 north, take left onto Rt. 404 west, take right on Rt. 480 (Ridgely Rd.) then take first left on Eveland Rd. Take left onto Crouse Mill Rd., after driving over both bridges the parking lot and boat ramp will be on your right.From Elkton - Take Rt. 213 south to Galena, continue onto Rt.313 to US Rt. 301 south. Make a right onto US Rt 301. Take left onto Rt. 304 (Centreville-Ruthsburg Rd) towards Ruthsburg. Make right onto Ruthsburg Rd., then left onto Crouse Mill Rd. Parking lot and boat ramp to lake will be on your left.
