What do Plants Need to Grow?
An Experiment
You will need:

- 4 milk cartons
- soil
- radish, bean, or corn seeds
- scissors
Do This:

- Cut off the top of the milk cartons to make planters.
- Decorate with roving or paper.
- Fill the cartons with soil.
- Plant the seeds in the soil. Dampen the soil.
- Wait. After the seeds sprout, divide the cartons into 4 groups to test growing conditions.
- Plant "A" has soil, water, light, but 'NO Air'. Wrap a plastic bag around the plant.
- Plant "B" has soil, water, air but 'NO Light'. Put the plant inside a cardboard box.
- Plant "C" has soil, air, light but 'NO Water'.
- Plant "D" has soil, air, light and water.
