Figure 6. The percentage of forest land supporting trees with average
sizes smaller than 5.5 inches, between 5.5 inches and 9 inches, and larger than 9
inches dbh. The trend of increasing land areas with large trees and
decreasing land areas with smaller trees is one indication that the forests in
Maryland are about the same age.
