Maryland's Strategic Forest Lands Assessment (October 2003)(13.2 Mb PDF file) - Maryland faces many challenges in sustaining healthy, ecologically functional and economically viable forests in the face of rapid urban development. This document describes the current condition of Maryland’s forests, including the results of three computer- based models that can be used to assess their ecological and economic value and their vulnerability to loss.
