Excellence in Forest Conservation and Land Development Awards
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) holds biennial awards competitions to showcase forest conservation efforts that are taking place throughout the state. The awards for Excellence in Forest Conservation and Land Development are presented to developers whose projects exemplify the requirements of the state's Forest Conservation Act and go beyond.
There are four categories of awards. All the awards, except one, are for projects that have been designed since the inception of the Forest Conservation Act and are in keeping with the forest conservation goals and objectives. The fourth award is for projects that were designed prior to adoption of the FCA in 1991. Critical Area projects are ineligible for these awards.
