Baltimore Harbor Water Quality Project, Project Summary
PROJECT TITLE: MARYLAND PATAPSCO/BACK RIVER WATER QUALITY MONITORING PROJECT & MARYLAND G-WEST/POOLES ISLAND WATER QUALITY MONITORING PROJECT

Project aka: PATASPCO/BACK RIVER ENHENCED TRIBUTARY MONITORING PROJECT
Project aka: BALTIMORE HARBOR WATER QUALITY MONITORING PROJECT

PROJECT SUMMARY: The objective of this project is to provide nutrient water quality data within Baltimore Harbor and Back River of sufficient temporal and spatial resolution to support the calibration of a 3-D, time variable water quality model in these tributaries for the calendar years 1994 and 1995. The purpose of this modeling is to evaluate various tributary specific nutrient reduction stratgies so that decision-makers can best judge how to most cost effectively implement the State's 40% nutrient reduction policy.

This project is also to assess the water quality impacts resulting from the placement of dredged material at the G-West site near Pooles Island for the period 1994 through 1995.
