The Civil War Trail

Washington - Rochambeau National Historic Trail

In the Catonsville Area of Baltimore County

“The Number 8”  ( approximately 1/3 mile long ) and “Number 9 Trolley” ( approximately 1 1/2 miles long) Trails are both completed and are paved 10' wide trails.  Both trails are connected by an on road section on Edmondson Ave with a separate bike lane which is both signed and delineated as a bike route.  The trails and the on road section provide a bicycle route from Catonsville to Ellicott City.  Future plans are to connect these trails with the CRRT.

The Patapsco Heritage Trail

This is a federally designated Millennium Trail, which runs from Ellicott City to a connection with the BWI Trail.  The Trail is mainly an off road 10' wide paved trail known as the Grist Mill Trail within the Avalon/Orange Grove section of the Patapsco Valley State Park.  The Trail has on road components both upstream from the Park to Ellicott City and downstream from the Park to the BWI Trail.  Both of the on road sections are not heavily used roads and have directional as well as distance signage.  The Trail connects the Catonsville/Ellicott City communities to the regional BWI/B&A.
