Real Property
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources manages nearly a half million acres of public land comprising over 5000 miles of external property boundaries.
The mission of the Real Property team is to provide technical assistance and analysis for real property issues related to land acquisition and management.
- Research and analyze land records
- Manage land survey contracts
- Delineate and assist in the recovery of property boundaries
- Convert analog map data to accurate digital (in CAD worksheet)….
- Update land records as new properties are acquired or protected through DNR funding or otherwise conveyed/exchanged
- Coordinate asset inventory and management
- Manage land records for nearly 10,000 transactions
- Support the production of maps and Web map services of DNR Land Interests – documenting known map accuracy; striving to meet national map accuracy standards
