Spring has sprung in fields, in forests and on DNR’s public lands! This picture taken at the John S. Ayton Tree Nursery in Preston,
shows a bed of red oak seedlings, just a few of the more than 7 million seedlings that will soon be dug up and planted in yards,
farms and parks all across Maryland. DNR’s state nursery will provide more than 50 different species of trees and shrubs to
homeowners, farmers, foresters, wildlife managers, third grade students and volunteers this year alone
