NRP Search Support Units (SSU)

The NRP Search Support Unit (SSU) is primarily a regional asset comprised of a team of Natural Resources Police Officers and NRP Reserve Officers. Members receive specialized training in a variety of search and rescue (SAR) skills and can be dispatched to deploy on a SAR incident. The Search Support Unit can assist field officers, allied agencies and the citizens of the state with the following support.

  • Swift water rescue.
  • Flood rescue and evacuation.
  • Ice rescue.
  • Remote Wilderness search and rescue.
  • Search and Rescue for missing persons.
