NRP Search Support Units (SSU)

The NRP Search Support Unit (SSU) is primarily a regional asset comprised of a team of Natural Resources Police Officers and NRP Reserve Officers. Members receive specialized training in a variety of search and rescue (SAR) skills and can be dispatched to deploy on a SAR incident. The Search Support Unit can assist field officers, allied agencies and the citizens of the state with the following support.
- Swift water rescue.
- Flood rescue and evacuation.
- Ice rescue.
- Remote Wilderness search and rescue.
- Search and Rescue for missing persons.
