Park Quest Rendezvous -- September 29, 2012!

Teams that successfully complete 10 or more Quests by September 3, 2012 are eligible to compete in the Park Quest Rendezvous on September 29, 2012 in the Pickall Area of Patapsco Valley State Park, located in Howard County. Teams must present their original Park Quest Passport to verify completion of at least 10 Quests in order to register for the Rendezvous events.

The Rendezvous event will include a mixture of physical and memory-oriented competitions, festival activities, vendors, and family oriented programming. Tickets will be given out for a select number of competitions and programs, to be entered into a raffle for prizes. In addition to competitions, door prizes will be awarded during the Rendezvous event.

Invitations to the Rendezvous will be e-mailed to all Park Quest families at the end of August. RSVP with your Team Name and Team Number and the names of all team members attending via e-mail to bknisely@dnr.state.md.us. You will receive an e-mail confirmation that your RSVP was accepted.

Reserve A Campsite

Consider spending the night with your team at a state park campsite, mini-cabin or full-service cabin during your quest adventures. Participants who are camping will need to pay for their overnight accommodations when staying in a Maryland State Park. State Park camping reservations can be made through this website.

Tick Safety

  • Wear light colored long pants and long sleeves to help keep ticks off your skin and to locate them if they do crawl onto you.
  • Tuck your pants into your socks, and tuck your shirt into you pants to keep ticks on the outside of clothing.
  • Insect repellant containing 20-50% DEET is recommended for use on adults to prevent tick bites.
  • Treat clothes with permethrin (but do not use permethrin directly on skin).
  • Check yourself, your children, and your pets daily for ticks after spending time in the outdoors.
