North Point State Park Quest

Heroes of North Point - The Battle for Baltimore

Introduction To Quest

NorthPointBattlefield.jpgA hidden treasure located in Dundalk, the North Point State Battlefield was once the location where American soldiers stood firm against British advancement in defense of Baltimore. The Battle of North Point delayed the British enough to enable further fortification of the port city, and, as a result, Baltimore did not suffer a British raid during the War of 1812. Travel back in time to the North Point State Battlefield and immerse yourself in the history, culture and landscape of this historic battle fought on September 12, 1814 by participating in a letterboxing quest through the park. A bonus Quest that paints a larger picture of the War of 1812 is located at North Point State Park, where participants will travel down the “Defender’s Trail,” part of the historic route to Baltimore, enjoying the natural landscape and learning about America’s "Second War of Independence."
