If you are looking for a unique getaway that is relaxing and close to nature, then Gunpowder Falls State Park has the place for you.

Nestled in the Hereford Wildlands, the Mill Pond Cottage offers visitors an array of outdoor recreation opportunities. Hikers and nature lovers will enjoy the miles of trails. Paddling, tubing and world-class trout fishing are also located just out the front door while cyclists will find the nearby Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail to be an enjoyable ride.

The Mill Pond Cottage is a one-of-a-kind lodging opportunity in Maryland's state parks. It has all of the comforts of your home combined with the charm of a private cottage tucked away in the woods. It accommodates a maximum of eight people and includes the following amenities:

Cottage guests need to provide their own linens, towels, bedding, soaps and trash bags.

The cottage makes no provisions for children’s items. If your child needs special equipment, such as highchair, stroller or crib, bring them with you.

A grill is located on site. Please bring charcoal and supplies to enjoy this amenity.

Cell phones may have poor signal. For your convenience, a landline is provided for free local calls only.

Pets are not permitted on the grounds of the Mill Pond Cottage, within the cottage or in the barn area of the facility.

Grocery stores are found locally in Hereford and Hunt Valley should you require any additional items.

If you would like more information about the Mill Pond Cottage or would like to make a reservation, please call Park Headquarters at 410-592-2897.

Cost: $200 per night + $6.25 reservation fee. There is a two-night minimum year-round and 3-night minimum on holiday weekends.
