Harriet Tubman Interpretive Center

The Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park will be a place for orientation, meditation and reflection. Visitors will be able to interpret exhibits that explore the Choptank River region as Tubman's first home, the Underground Railroad as a resistance movement and Tubman as a nineteenth century hero.

Through displays and orientation film, visitors will be able to contemplate Tubman's legacy and the human values of freedom, family, community and equality. Additionally, the visitor center will provide orientation for Tubman heritage sites within the Dorchester and Caroline County region and could become a starting point for those tracing Tubman's steps along the Underground Railroad to New York and Canada.
