Patapsco Valley State Park is in need of volunteers to staff the Avalon History Center in the Avalon area of the park off of Washington Blvd. (US Route 1) in Halethorpe, Maryland. The history center is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from April 1 until October 31. Volunteers greet visitors and answer questions, provide information regarding trails and the history of the area and handle gift shop transactions. New volunteers are provided 'on the job' training from experienced volunteers.

You can also join our award-winning trail crew on one of our volunteer trail work days. One is scheduled during each month from April through October. For more information visit the park's webpage at www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/central/patapscovalley.html

You can download a Volunteer Registration form. Please print and fill out completely, then return it to the address or fax number on the form. You will added to the park's volunteer database and then as volunteer opportunities arise in the park that match your areas of interest, you will be sent an email inviting you to participate. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the park's volunteer coordinator, Maegan Cooper, at the phone number or e-mail address listed above.
