| Description | Meadow Mountain Trail at Deep Creek Lake Recreation Area is a linear trail that starts at the entrance of the campground and goes out around the old Brant Mine then runs parallel to the ridge top until it ends at private property. At the halfway point, it intersects with the Fire Tower Trail (this is the shortest and quickest way down off the mountain). At the 3/4 point the trail intersects with the Indian Turnip Trail which is a narrow foot path that is approximately 2.5 miles long and returns to the trail head. Both trails meander through a mostly oak, maple and hickory hardwood forest. Most hikers use both trails to make a loop, which is a little over 5.5 miles long. |
