Point Lookout State Park
Campground Regulations
- Campers must have their shelters present while registering.
- Campers will be assigned to a campsite. Change of site requires Park approval.
- Maximum occupancy per site is six (6) people. (Except 107 and 128, which allow 12 people). Camper cabins allow four (4) people.
- Campers must register all vehicles at the Camp Office. Also give your boat registration number to the attendant.
- Camping units must have full hook-up capacity (water, sewage, electric) for Tulip Loop. No bathhouse available.
- For identification purposes, camper tags will be displayed on all vehicles by hanging from the rearview mirror or placing on the dashboard.
- All vehicles and equipment must remain on the camp pad or driveway. Overflow parking is available near the Civil War Museum / Marshland Nature Center.
- Campsites must be kept clean at all times. Place trash in receptacles (dumpsters) provided at the campground exit, behind the camp office.
- Fires are only permitted in the fire ring or grill provided. Fires must be attended at all times.
- Alcoholic beverages may only be consumed at your campsite or picnic table. As of November 1, 2009 the consumption, or possession of an open container, of an alcoholic beverage will be prohibited in all State Park areas, including campgrounds.
- Visitors to campsites must purchase a day-use permit. Visitors must leave the campground by 10:00 PM.
- Quiet hours are from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
- Washing vehicles and boats is permitted at the dump station.
- Portable and On-board generators are permitted. They may only be used from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
- It is unlawful to cut, injure or mutilate any plant, tree or shrub.
- Nails, axes, knives or any other foreign objects may not be driven into trees.
- It is unlawful to possess or discharge any weapons or fireworks.
- Washing dishes or cleaning fish is prohibited in laundry tubs. Hoses may not be attached to public water outlets.
- Bathhouse electric outlets are not available for campsite use or for cooking or charging batteries.
- Children must be supervised at all times. Report missing children immediately.
- Pets are allowed only in Malone Circle, Green’s Point Loop, Tulip Loop, Hoffman’s Loop and in posted areas within the park. (There is a pet beach at the North end of the Causeway) Pets must be on a leash at all times.
- Check in / Check out time for all campsites is 3:00 PM. Check in time is 3:00 PM for the camper (mini) cabins and check out time is 12:00 PM (Noon).
- Metal detectors are prohibited in all areas of the Park.
- Fees paid for the use of State Park facilities are non-refundable.
- Additional information and program schedules are posted on bulletin boards, (or found at the Camp Office).
- No dishwashing in laundry or bathrooms.
- Children under 16 years of age are required by Maryland Law to wear helmets when operating a bicycle, scooter, or in-line skates. (TR21-1207.1 and TR21-1207.2)
