Eastern Shore Adventure
Kayaking, Crabbing, and Outdoor Cooking
July 10th, 2010
Participants joined the staff of the BOW program for a day of fun on Maryland’s eastern shore. The day began with participants partaking in a hands-on crabbing lesson. They then took an active role in preparing lunch which consisted of crabs and a sampling of food prepared over the fire- including cream of crab soup, corn bread, and pineapple upside-down cake. After the crab feast we ended with basic kayak instruction including paddling techniques and safety. Once completing on-land instruction, paddlers took to the water for a guided kayak trip. We will set out paddling on the Wye East River, Granary Creek, and Dividing Creek along scenic Wye Island and will be able to enjoy plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities along the way.
A fine end to a great day! A special thanks to all who helped with the days events.
