Youth were invited to participate from the Central/Southern region of Maryland in this Pheasant-Chukar hunt. Forty youth were selected through a lottery and participated in this mentored youth hunt on January 14, 2012. Parents/guardians were able to share this experience as observers at this event. Maryland’s mentored youth hunts provide a positive hunting experience and educate parents/guardians how to be a good hunting mentor. The youth, as well as their parents/guardians, are informed about conservation groups they can become involved with, giving participants enough knowledge and contacts to further pursue their interest beyond these one-day events. |
