This course is designed to provide students with an overview of emerging diseases that pose a threat to wildlife and man, including West Nile Disease, Malaria, Rabies, and Biological threats. Students will learn to recognize the diseases, and become familiar with controlling and preventing the spread of the diseases between animals and man. Students will also learn basic diagnostic laboratory skills, such as collecting specimens, running primary urinalysis, blood and fecal studies, using relative equipment, and diagnostic procedures.
